2001: The Start of a Dream
Richard Saupe, facing challenging times but driven by sheer determination, began his journey with just a single discarded appliance and a trusty Haynes manual. What started as “Richard’s Boot Sale Refurbished Appliances” evolved, thanks to guidance from Graham Dixon—author of the very Haynes manual Richard used to learn his craft. With a passion for giving new life to forgotten appliances, Richard transformed unwanted scrap into valuable household items.
2001: Laying the Foundation
A small loan from a friend allowed Richard to open “All Bubble No Squeak” in Eight Ash Green. This was the first step in selling refurbished appliances, and after countless successful repairs—especially of appliances like Dysons—a new challenge emerged.
2003: Growing Ambitions
Richard took his skills on the road, expanding his services to include in-home appliance repairs, bringing convenience to more customers.
2007: A New Identity
With the business continuing to flourish, the company rebranded as Appliance Repairman Ltd to reflect its broad range of repair services. Marketing efforts helped the business grow, and with growth came the need for more hands.
2008: Building a Team
Paul Davies and Lee Rawlins joined the team, each bringing valuable skills that allowed Appliance Repairman Ltd to continue expanding its service offerings and expertise.
2018: Evolving and Growing
Though Lee pursued a new career, the rest of the team remained committed to delivering top-quality repairs.
2020: Strengthening the Core
The team was bolstered by the arrival of Vad, whose extensive experience helped maintain the high volume of weekly repairs, ensuring that no customer was left waiting too long.
2021: A Vision for Tomorrow
Looking ahead, the vision for Appliance Repairman Ltd is clear: Richard is committed to training the next generation of repair professionals, establishing a repairmen’s association, and offering fixed-price repairs and flexible payment options. The ultimate goal is to become a national supplier of parts and refurbished appliances, and maybe even to explore R&D for creating more durable, long-lasting domestic appliances.
